Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety
An international treaty under the Convention on Biological Diversity, the Protocol seeks to ensure the safe handling, transport and use of Living Modified Organisms (LMOs) that may have adverse effects on biological diversity, taking also into account risks to human health.
As the designated National Focal Point and National Competent Authority, the NBA is responsible for implementing the Protocol in Zimbabwe.
